Where should AI actually plug into your marketing? Most teams grab it for one-off tasks, ask a question, copy the answer, move on. That's not where the payoff is. Here's a simpler way to decide. Rank any marketing task on two things: how much brand context it needs, and how often you repeat it. High-context, high-frequency work is where an embedded AI agent earns its place. Low-context, one-time work is where you're better off doing it yourself. Run your week through that filter and the pattern shows up fast. Strategy and research score high on both. Competitor analysis, SEO keywords, buyer personas, content voice, spotting opportunities. That's foundational work a strong marketing team should do consistently and rarely does. An agent can run it overnight, so you open the dashboard in the morning to work already done. Content production scores high too, but only if the tool holds your context. This is where most tools fall over. Agent Craft loads brand voice, DNA, strategy, and campaign goals before a single piece gets written, so the draft comes back on-brand instead of after a dozen rewrites. Then there's the full stack an embedded agent can carry: planning campaigns, sourcing and generating images, tracking engagement, reading performance. Each one repeats. Each one benefits from knowing your brand. The tasks that fail the test? Anything that needs a human's judgment in the room, a decision that happens once, a call that depends on something the system can't see. Keep those. The point of the framework isn't to hand everything over. It's to stop your best people from burning hours on work that repeats, so they can spend that time on the parts that need a person who's paying attention. Try it on your own list this week. Two columns, context and frequency. See what belongs to the agent and what belongs to you.
