A manufacturing company came to us convinced they had their marketing sorted. They'd hired an agency. Job done, right? When I looked at their social accounts, the problem was obvious within about thirty seconds. Every single post looked like an advert. Not paid ads. Organic social. And nobody wants to follow an account full of ads, so it wasn't a surprise that they had a few tens of followers across each account and engagement was essentially zero. I told them straight: with those numbers, they'd be better off just picking up the phone and calling those people. The agency was wasting their money. Once they moved to Agent Craft, the content changed completely. Gone were the polished, empty, corporate-looking posts. Instead, you had authentic takes from the founders and the executives. The real stuff. Insights, opinions, context that only someone inside the company could give you. That's what people actually follow. And the consistency. Instead of one or two advert-style posts a week, they were putting out multiple posts across multiple channels. That's when accounts start to build. That's when people notice you exist. The transformation for them was night and day. This is exactly why outsourcing to an agency so often fails SMBs. Agencies don't know your story, don't have your voice, and default to making things look polished instead of making things feel real. The people inside your company are the content. The agency just gets in the way. If your social accounts look more like a brochure than a conversation, that's not a distribution problem. That's a voice problem.
