Most people I know who are working hard right now are doing it for the right reasons. But sometimes the grind makes it easy to lose sight of what those reasons actually are. My best moment of the day is right after walking my dogs. Every single day. There's something about it that's hard to explain — they're tired, they got what they needed, and I had an hour to just think. That combination hits differently than anything else in the day. It's not about money. It's not about yourself. It's about the relationships you have, and whether those relationships are getting what they need from you. That includes your pets. That includes the people in your life who don't send you Slack messages or join your stand-ups. I've had stretches where I'm working 4am to 10:30 at night for weeks on end. I know what it feels like to mistake volume for progress. And I know that when I finally step away — even just for a walk — my brain keeps working. Your brain is an incredible tool. It's solving problems even when you think you've clocked off. So if you're deep in it today, this is just a reminder. The work matters. And so does everything else. Take care of what's important to you.
