I just finished the Mo Gawdat episode on Diary of a CEO and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Not because Mo said things I hadn't heard. Because he said things I'd been feeling but hadn't fully named yet. The one that really stuck: capitalism breaks when AI replaces the workers who buy the things we make. That's not dystopian fiction. That's a structural problem with a timer on it. And governments are really and truly not ready for it. Here's where I land on it. Anyone with a Claude license can ship a product in a weekend right now. Building has become so accessible that building itself is no longer the moat. We are already living in the early version of the world Mo is describing, and most people are still treating AI like a faster way to do the same old thing. The 400-point IQ boost he talks about is real. I've seen it. But the people wasting it are the ones using it to move faster, not to think further than they've ever had to before. That's the part that gets me. It's not that the tool isn't extraordinary. It's that most people are pointing it at small problems. Three years, he says. What are you actually doing with it?
