There's another giant sleeping opportunity ripe for disruption. It's email marketing. Specifically newsletters from MailChimp and Constant Contact. MailChimp has about 10 million users. Most of them small and medium-sized businesses. Constant Contact is a little smaller but still massive with nearly a million users. That puts us at around 11 million small and medium-sized businesses sending newsletters. When was the last time you read one of these newsletters from one of these businesses? I have because when I talk to customers I look at their newsletter. I can tell you they're bad. Okay they're just bad. Nobody wants to read them. Some send to a couple hundred people maybe 300. Some send to many more. I can guarantee they're not getting read. These two companies have embedded some AI into their services. They've done a little on the cleansing side of email. If your list isn't opening you shouldn't be sending to it. High bounce rates low open rates and no reply rates push your messages straight into spam at Gmail and Microsoft. So credit where it's due for that part. What they've also done is build AI into the content creation side. If you think about it this is just a recipe for more of the same. Building: AgentCraft (dot) ai The app that grows your personal brand in minutes per day.

- X (Twitter)Defending a frivolous lawsuit costs up to a million dollars, even when the claim has zero merit. I've built six companies. Out of those six I've faced more frivolous suits than I can count. None of them had real merit. The pattern is always the same. Someone files a claim over a minor issue or nothing at all. Their lawyer works on contingency so it costs them little. They know defending yourself runs up to a million dollars. So they push for a settlement that stays below that number. You pay the attorney fees to respond. You trade claims. It ends in mediation. You calculate what it takes to make it stop because you don't have the cash to see it through on principle. Some businesses can fight all the way. Most entrepreneurs who just found traction cannot. That is the calculation they count on. The people who run this play understand the system better than the owners they target. They keep doing it because it works.

- LinkedInSan Mateo County wants to give workers 60 days notice and four weeks of severance if AI takes their job. They also want robots to carry off switches. The county has a habit of jumping into the news with this kind of thing. Their regulation shows they picture the threat as runaway robots that someone needs to flip off. That picture is wrong. A real problem with AI won't be solved by an off switch. The people writing these rules don't understand the technology they're trying to control. Rules made at the county level won't touch the actual risks. This needs to be handled at the national level, and probably the international level. Stay out of it if you don't know what you're doing.
