45 seconds of talking. A number most executives spend a quarter chasing. Zero minutes spent writing. An exec recorded a 45-second voice note and posted it on LinkedIn. The traction it pulled in the first day alone matched what most leaders grind toward for months, comments, shares, reach, the works. All of it came from talking for less time than it takes to reheat coffee. The exec didn't sit down to write anything. No draft, no outline, no afternoon blocked off. They spoke for 45 seconds. The post came back formatted and on-brand. They hit publish. Most leaders I talk to aren't short on ideas. They're short on the hour it takes to turn an idea into something worth posting. The thinking is there. It just never makes it out of their head, because writing it up is a two-hour job nobody has time for. That gap is where good ideas go to die on a to-do list. Here's the part I'll stake a claim on: the reach wasn't the point. The speed was. A leader with real opinions and no time to write them down finally had a way to publish without the two hours. 45 seconds of talking got that exec further than months of meaning to post. The writing was never the hard part. The finding-an-hour-to-do-it was.
