The growing hatred for AI is what's really blocking data centers, not the water or land use. Data centers get blocked over water. 20 billion gallons a year sounds heavy until you stack it against golf courses at 500 billion. Land use draws the same fire. Miles of empty desert sit in Utah and Nevada with no one rushing to call them national parks. Mark Cuban nailed the real driver. People equate data centers with AI and block the builds because the hatred for AI is growing. Everything else is just the excuse they reach for first.
