The safe post feels responsible. That's why execs publish it and vanish into the pile. Most LinkedIn feeds read like a wall of "I'm thrilled to announce." New job. New hire. Welcome to the team, Sarah. Polished, safe, and forgotten by the time you scroll past. Two ways to play it. Here's the case for each. The first camp keeps every post sanitised. You stay professional, you never get in trouble, and since everyone does it, nobody gets punished for it. For most people running a company, that trade feels fine. The second camp says the sanitised post is why LinkedIn feels hollow. The value sits in the posts almost nobody publishes. The messy problem you spent weeks on. The decision you got wrong. The thing you learned the hard way. Post that, and you reach a professional audience that can directly advance your career. But you have to say something you might regret. I've watched plenty of execs freeze at that edge. The second camp wins, and it isn't close. When I launched Agent Craft, my sixth company, I told the real version: I built around an assumption that didn't survive first contact with prospects, realised the value wasn't in an individual product but in a team one, then pivoted, rebranded from Influence Craft, and relaunched. That's not a "thrilled to announce" post. That's the human experience of working through a hard problem, which is exactly what LinkedIn is missing. If you've posted the hard version, the one with the sharp edges left on, I want to know whether it paid off or bit you.

- ThreadsYou're planning your Black Friday sale and want the message out. Most owners go to Canva for a graphic and post it on Instagram or Facebook. Get your team of ten to record short videos instead and share them on their own TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn accounts. Each video pulls seven times the engagement. Multiply by ten and you reach seventy times the total. People follow people, not logos. Your team already has phones in their pockets and five minutes between tasks. What's holding you back?
