Everyone spent this week talking about AI watermarking. Nobody's…
Everyone spent this week talking about AI watermarking. Nobody's asking the real question. Who else is doing this? Google has been watermarking Gemini's text for a while now, with something called SynthID. Over 100 billion pieces of content marked across their products. Anthropic just announced their own version. They're not the first here. They're the second. OpenAI hasn't shipped this into their text. They've researched it, they just haven't done it. But they have marked their images and audio using the same tech Google's using, SynthID, alongside NVIDIA, Elevenlabs, and a handful of other vendors. Here's where it gets strange. Every one of these marks is vendor-specific. Google detects Google. Anthropic detects Anthropic. There is no universal "was this AI" button, and there isn't going to be one. You basically have to already suspect who made something, and then check it yourself. Now the part that changes everything. The image generators that don't participate at all. Midjourney, Stability, the open models anyone can run on their own laptop. They're marking nothing, and nobody can make them. Which means the labeling is being done by the labs least likely to be the problem, and the tools built for actual deception stay invisible. I don't think that makes it pointless. A world where most synthetic content carries some trace is better than one that doesn't. But be honest about what this solves. It solves the accountability problem for the companies that already want to be accountable. That's not the same as solving it. So if a detector can only tell you "this is Claude" or "this is Gemini", is that transparency, or is it just a receipt? -- Repost it to your network and follow for more. - ThreadsEveryone's posting "use this prompt, use this prompt" all over X right now. But most business owners don't want to sit there building prompts to get a decent result. So which is it: does good AI marketing mean better prompts, or not having to write prompts at all?
- LinkedInMonths studying personal brand building while building AgentCraft showed me the whole thing boils down to three steps. Decide what you want to be known for. That part matters. You have to take a point of view. Record a daily video or voice note. One or two minutes a day. Every day. Let AgentCraft handle the rest. It turns the recording into a video for TikTok and YouTube, pulls the audio to write posts for LinkedIn and X, and makes a visual version for Instagram if you want it. The tool adds the polish and formatting, then posts everything. Your investment stays at minutes per day. Your personal brand grows from there. - X (Twitter)Spent weeks building features for my app. This week I ripped most of them out. Not everything I built makes sense anymore. Sunk cost fallacy. Simplicity is almost always better. Juan Mouton, Fractional CMO preparing you for Series A Personal Brand Powered by Agent Craft
- LinkedInAnthropic just announced a digital signature for everything Claude writes. It'll mark the output as AI-generated so platforms can spot it. Other companies will follow. LinkedIn and the rest already struggle with AI posts. I think they'll label this stuff at minimum. If you're using Claude or any other tool to make content, and most people are, that label could cut your reach. Will you stop? Will you change how you use it? The method is still unclear. It looks like an algorithmic watermark that survives some editing, depending on how much you change the text. But if people find the signal they could probably strip it out. The bigger question is where this heads. Are platforms moving to throttle all AI content, or will some of it stay fine? How much editing will it take to beat the mark, and how hard will people work at it? I'm guessing reach drops for anyone who keeps posting it raw.
