Every content plan I've watched an exec start died the same way. Deciding what you want to be known for is the hard part. Everything after that is mechanics. Most execs get this backwards. They wait until the content plan is perfect, the voice is dialed in, the calendar is mapped. Meanwhile the LinkedIn feed fills up with their competitors. Here's the version that ships. Decide what you want to be known for. One topic, one point of view, the thing you'd want a buyer to associate with your name. This is the step people skip, and it's the only one that matters. Not your posting cadence. Not your headshot. This. Because once you've made that call, the rest is friction removal, and friction is what kills every plan. A two-minute voice note is something a busy person does every day. Your phone, hit record, done. A two-hour writing session gets pushed to next week, then the week after, then quietly dropped. Consistency beats polish. A post you publish today outperforms the perfect one still sitting in your drafts. So the work isn't cranking out more ideas. Every leader I talk to already has opinions worth reading. The work is closing the gap between having the thought and getting it live, and that gap is now a couple of minutes a day instead of a blocked-off afternoon. So what's the one thing you'd want a buyer to think of the second they hear your name?
